Terms & Conditions

Cancellation Policy

Any cancellations must be made by 3.00pm local time, 24 hours prior to scheduled arrival to avoid a penalty of one night's room charge. No show charge will also incur a one night’s room charge.

Guarantee Policy

All reservations require a guarantee or prepaid deposit. Methods that are accepted as a guarantee include: credit card or debit card, cash deposit or Merchant Gift Card.

Pet and Guide Dog Policy

Guide dogs permitted, advance notice must be given.

Age & Dress Code Policy

Each department of the hotel has a dedicated age policy and dress code. Please contact the hotel directly if you require further information.

Child Supplements

Available on a per night B&B rate as shown below.  Child supplements are subject to room type and availability and must be pre-booked:

0-4 years complimentary
5-11 £20 per child
12 – 17 £40 per child

Cots

We are delighted to provide cots for children up to two years of age with our compliments.

Credit Card Pre-Authorisation

The Merchant Hotel reserves the right to ask for a pre-authorisation at check-in for the total accommodation stay, plus a deposit for incidentals.

What is a Pre-Authorisation?

A pre-authorisation will place the requested amount in a holding state and temporarily reduce the holder’s credit limit. This is NOT a transaction charge. All charges should be settled in full upon departure.

Chip & Pin

Pin verification is required at all times when using a debit or credit card.

Competitions Policy

If you wish to offer an experience at The Merchant Hotel as a prize, please contact the Marketing department by emailing marketing@themerchanthotel.com.

Please note that if you do not agree your competition in advance with the Marketing department, you may be asked to remove your Merchant prize with immediate effect. Third party use of Merchant branding without hotel authorisation is prohibited.
