The Merchant Hotel is located in the former Ulster Bank building originally constructed in 1858. This Victorian masterpiece is full of period features and has been renovated sympathetically to not only preserve but actually enhance these features. It is difficult to experience the splendour and opulence of our bedrooms, bars and restaurants without visiting the hotel, however, our 360 degree photo tours give you an excellent taste of what you’ll experience when you arrive.

All of the hotels suites are decorated to match their Victorian surroundings. High ceilings, subdued lighting, luscious velvets and silks are distinctive features of our suites.
Built in 2010 the Art Deco wing of the hotel is a welcome addition, providing some of the largest bedrooms in Belfast; spacious, stylish, bright and furnished with decadent style.
The hotel’s public bar offers an alternative to the more formal surroundings of the hotel. It serves a range of local ales and has a traditional, locally sourced, food menu.
